Please post what you use to mix, or what you dreamed of getting :)
I would like to see what ever uses and how their setup is at home or at the studio.

Dont be shy and post :)>P

As of now I dont mix live (yet) so i use my laptop to produce and mix!

Laptop:
Intel Pentium M730 1,7Ghz
1GB DDRram
Around 310GB HDD
5.1 soundcard from relatec
dont think theres anymore thats important

For mixing I use mixmeister pro 6, and acid pro 4 for rendering to mp3!

For productions I use reason 3.0 + adobe audition 2 for mastering and vocal cutting etc! + 2,5GB usefull refills...

To listen to what i produce I have a 5.1 setup (only use 2 speakers when i produce offcourse) to around 30000NOK, that will be around 5000$...
And i also use some headphones by AKG..
If someone is interrested I can fill out a bunch of details about the sound system!

Maybe ill fill in with pictures later!

No pics yet, but here's a list:

2 x Denon DN-S1000 CD Decks
4 x Technics MK3D Turntables
1 x Vestax PMC-15 mkII Mixer
1 x Behringer VMX 1000 Mixer (piece o' shit)
1 x Mackie 1202 Mixer
1 x Apple G4 iBook (for Ableton Live)
1 x Dell 2.1GHz duo-core laptop (for Serato Scratch)
1 x M-Audio O2 MIDI Controller
1 x M-Audio 88-Key MIDI Controller
1 x Yamaha DGX-202 61-Key Keyboard/MIDI Controller
2 x Serato Scratch Live (need two because of vinyl & CD decks)
1 x PowerMac G4 Desktop (for recording/mastering)
2 x Infiniti Studio Monitors (SM-65s, I think)

Lots of cables and other crap, too...heh. Still building my studio, but those are the basics for now. And yes - I play out using two laptops, a MIDI controller, cd decks, and turntables - it's very time-consuming to set up.

Van Deka

no no no
i got my laptop for half the price (i paid half and parents paid half)
i cracked all my software
and my turntables and that mixer that came with them i got for a total of $200
it was like some package, basically i spent about a $1000 including the laptop, and all the stuff with it like external HD, and i bought it all at different times

Well, now that we have seen Cliffy's. Here's the other side of the fence.

Behringer vmx1000(<$100),
1 nice little Audiotechnica Mic(free, good friend) stuck right into chnl 4,
CDJ100S's(< $500 for the pair),
Alto @verb(Free with mixer),
Old Sony A/V receiver for mons on window($799 in 1986),
Older Harman/Kardon($15 at garage sale) DC AMP/Rec for mains:
2 Warfedales(Came free with H/K amp, YUM) hanging from the ceiling,
One PC(Too Much$$$) with TouchScreen for effects,
3 rats, thousands of woodbugs, and at least 40 terabytes of mites running around on the floor(Also free).
All in the Garage with the volume cranked all the way up: (Priceless:P)

hey, is that the older version of Virtual DJ? or Fruity Loops?

It's called atomixmp3. It has the same creator as Virtual Dj.

Nice and minimalist, luke.

it's quite interesting to note that most of you guys allready have cganged to the digital format.

For mixing, I use Traktor 4. It's really cool, powerful and adaptive. You should try it sometimes. And 2 turntables.

Well I just got back into this stuff from over 25 years ago with 2 stanton TT's and a radio shack mixer.
Now the digital age has given us software that takes any of the skill out, I used VDJ, and another one, can't remember, but figured the CDJ's would be the way to truly master my beatmatching.
Well, I'm still trying, and I have to say, I SUCK. But won't give up yet, cause i'm having fun.:lollypop:
