hey guys,
was just looking at my sound settings ('Realtek HD Audio Manager') in the sound effect tab and realised that a song could sound totally different depending on which Equalizer setting i had it on (e.g. Party, rock, Dance etc).
Was wondering if there was a general one everyone used for trance?
any help would be great

I don't use Realtek HD Audio Manager but my amplifier has a range of different settings such as that which I never use because essentially its altering the sound from the original source, so I keep mine on 'Direct' which is the default setting with no processing used.

If I am listening through headphones, I turn off the EQ to hear the music, in the way the artist intended to deliver. but If listening through large speakers/ home theater, then EQ is useful to me, to adjust the sound elements, not to alter it.
