Jen Lasher on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
Main Room 1:00am – 2:00am
One night, in her hometown of Washington, DC, Jen Lasher, a young girl at the time, was exposed to something that would change her life forever. From a very early age Jen was introduced to classical music through her piano training, which igniting the musical spark within her. She loved everything from the period and beyond embracing classical music, opera and theater from artists such as Bach and Mozart and her favorite musical, Phantom of the Opera. Jump ahead to age 14. Some friends took Jen to a new type of music gathering where she quickly fell in love. She experienced a symbiosis of lights, rhythmic music, and a pulsating crowd driven by the universal consciousness that quickly became a part of her. This intoxicating sound consumed the young musician with a fresh understanding and deeper passion for music. After seeing many DJ performances from a dancer's perspective, Jen quickly realized that she belonged behind the decks. Buying turntables and teaching herself to mix, she ambitiously pursued her new craft.
By the age of 19 Jen had already toured the US while gaining international recognition as a vocalist and electronic producer. She had frequently performed at the World-renowned Buzz nightclub (Washington, DC) and was offered her first residency by Lonnie Fishers Ultraworld Productions at club Sonar in Baltimore, MD. As a result of her early DJ travels Jen developed a deep friendship w/ DJ Icey and Baby Anne. They encouraged Jen to pursue her dream of making music by supporting her on tour, working with her in the studio, and inviting her to join Icey's label Zone Records Inc. In the studio, Jen co-wrote and sang on Dj Icey's CDs "Different Day" on System Recordings as well as the closing track on his latest CD release "Disco Rodeo" on Moist Music. She and Baby Anne had a billboard-charted CD of their own, "Assault and Battery," on System Recordings which included Jen's driving Industrial influenced single "No More Tears."
This love for Goth/Industrial music created a nice balance and landed Jen a 2nd residency @ Alchemy in DC. It remains one of the biggest nights in the country for the Goth/Industrial genre bringing such names as VNV Nation, Covenant, Shiny Toy Guns, + many more. This gave her an opportunity to develop her diverse musical style while gaining experience throwing large events and booking bands. This undoubtedly sparked an interest in the rock music scene in as Jen has since attended three years of SXSW playing alongside bands, toured for NBC with the Shiny Toy Guns, a residency at NYC’s Highline Ballroom, plus various dance remixes for rock artists. In addition Jen has worked in the studio with Glitch and Tommie Sunshine, their track "Emotion Commotion" landed on Tommie's CD
"Ultra Rock Remixed" on Ultra Records.
A constant need for diversity and growth keeps Jen busy working on new projects. Her recent teaming with fellow B-more local Mickey Fortune aka Oh Snap! has lead to a number of cheeky hip hop tunes gaining worldwide recognition. Their hit "Boom Da" with former Sepultura drummer, now Mixhell, has been remixed by such greats as Crookers & Les Petits Pilous". The newest, unique culmination is with Dave Aude & Christopher Lawrence with a brand new single "Lie to Ourselves". A deep vocal driven track with pop-like qualities is an unexpected breath of fresh air from your usual dance record. This release, due out spring 2009 on Dave Aude's label "Audacious Records" is sure to mark as a corner stone for her future writer’s repertoire.
Jen has made strides in becoming one of America's most beloved electronic artists. With her unique style & live vocal performance/DJ Sets she continues to show shes a step up on the competition. Its been a few years since her humble beginnings and she has earned a place with the A list DJs and producers. Jen Lasher is a music monster and she is poised to take over the world. Guaranteed to make the crowds lose control and fall in love w/ her at the same time

John Bas on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
Downstairs 1:30am – 2:30am
Born and bred in Brooklyn, New York, this former Graffiti Artist turned DJ has been an influential part of the underground music scene since 1994. John is considered one of Brooklyn's originators for the harder styles of dance for several reasons. On top of DJing and producing, Bas is also the founder of Electronic-Chaos. Throwing countless underground hard dance events in the mid to late 90's, John helped create the foundation for the scene we know and love today. After cementing his name in history with Electronic-Chaos as one of Brooklyn's best rave promoters, and an honorable mention by HUGE magazine in 1998, John turned his attention to, and concentrated on, spinning.
Beginning his career as a Hardcore DJ, he has rocked the decks and shared the stage alongside such east coast legends as Lenny Dee, Delirium, and Rob Gee. However, after a trip to Holland nine years ago, John discovered a new sound of music, that would later be named Hardstyle, and immediately fell in love. John knew instantly that he wanted to deliver this new sound to the masses here in America, and while he is extremely humble, John is considered by many to be one of the best, and one of the first, DJs to play Hardstyle here in the United States.
A veteran of 15 years, known for rocking dance floors as if it is going out of style, John has proven himself repeatedly over the years. Holding residencies at some of New York City's top nightclubs back in the day, like Avalon, Limelight and Tunnel, there is no question that John Bas is one of New York City's premier underground DJs! John is also one of the first Hardstyle artists on Beatport to release his tracks for download. Tracks like "Feel It", "Take Me To The Top", "Locked Inside Your Mind", and "Kick In The Bass". With production hits like that to his credit and his superb track selection, it's no wonder why Bas is one of Brooklyn's favorites.
For those of you who cannot wait for John to hit the stage, I have a bit of good news for you. John is back yet again with a new mixed CD release entitled "Hardstyle Is My Style". Even better, you can download it free at johnbas.com. (Volume 2 coming late November 2009) In addition, Bas promises to bring it hard, fast, and on point, when he steps to the decks. So get ready to tear the walls down and dance your ass off to the Hardstyle beats of John Bas!!!

DJ Shunt.com | MySpace
Downstairs 12:00am – 1:30am
For the last couple of years, DJ Shunt has been one of the most promising and successful DJs on the international synthpop scene. His incredible abilities to entertain the audience, as well as his mixing skills and track selection have earned him reputation and a spot among the best.
Originally born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, the youngest of three, Miro discovered synth and new wave music at the age of 14. With the emerging influence of the Internet, he was able to meet like-minded friends and be part of the creation of several online communities. It took him 4 years to start promoting events. The first series were under the name "Wave Night Over Plovdiv", with which he successfully re-introduced the New Wave scene in his home city. With nearly no mixing skills and great track selection, Miro was able to keep the dance floor packed. Soon after that a residency was offered from one of the leading alternative clubs in the country - "Petnoto". Miro started spinning electropop and synthpop under the name DJ Shunt, which he took from a Recoil track. He was nearly 8 hours behind the decks, twice a month. He also created new series of events named "Blue Mondays". Shunt was the first one to start promoting Depeche Mode parties in Plovdiv, which later made him invaluable part of DM.org, an online community which he co-founded in 2004. He spent significant time learning the basics of beat-mixing in order to keep the dance floor moving even when he spun completely new tracks and by the end of the year he was one of the first DJs within the local scene who managed to focus more attention on the underground synth and electro artists. In December 2004 he got his first gig abroad. He was spotted by DJ addambombb while Miro was residing in Boston, MA (United States) and soon after that he guest DJ'ed Haven in Northampton, MA.
When DJ Shunt returned to Bulgaria in 2005 - two new chapters were written - The annual DM.org conventions and Studio A. Both projects were based on already working ideas in Western Europe and North America. With Studio A, he created new types of events which were focused on name/brand, rather than one particular band or style. Unfortunately none of the local promoters followed that model and soon the competition was down to exchanging words rather than competing music wise. Promoters artificially divided the local scene into "Goth" and "Wave" and soon they were forced to promote concerts rather than parties, to keep the interest alive. In the meantime thanks to his continuous work with DM.org DJ Shunt and his partner in crime - DJ julianep were invited by the city of Kavarna to open for DJ Andy Fletcher's first gig in Bulgaria as part of the annual Sea Fest in Kavarna. As a result of his energetic performance and positive feedback, Shunt soon got offers from promoters abroad to guest DJ their events. In early 2008 he opened for Camouflage in Romania and he spun at first synth club - Strangel, Moscow (Russia). In 2008 DM.org promoted a concert of De/Vision in which Shunt had vital part as one of the co-promoters. Soon afterwards he was on small world tour including locations in Eastern Europe and North America with more than 20 cities in 5 countries.
Soon after the tour Miro re-located completely to the United States. In early 2009 he moved to New York and started working several events with his friends from Audiolust. DJ Shunt has been currently expanding his mixing skills adding vinyl’s, as well as gaining experience in concerts and parties production, sound, lights and visuals.
