First off, I just discovered AH.FM while looking at the radio features of Itunes.
And I loved it.

Then, I decided to sign up here to learn more about this place, and the stuff you guys play. I found out almost immediately that there is the ability to download what has been already streamed. I didn't really care who's music it was, I just wanted to listen and enjoy. So I found one that looked like it sounded good, and decided to download it. Two seconds later, there were 4 viruses planted into my computer. Gee thanks AH, I fall in love with you for one day, and then when I try to have some music to listen to again and again, it tries to destroy my computer.
Luckily, I extracted 3 of them so far, but there is still one that is locked in a roaming file that I'm still hunting after.

So the question now is : Why? Does anyone check the downloads for malicious files before letting them lose on the world? Or is it just my own fault for being careless?

For those who didn't read any of that:
-First hour here
-Get a virus from a download

Lucky for you, I love this music, so I'm just gonna keep listening while I hunt down viruses.

so that we can remove it....what specifically was it you downloaded?

Hello there, I don't now what you downloaded? care to share the link you downloaded?

As far as the shows that we offer for download they are a zip file containing:

  • Click here to visit AH.FM.html
  • Tune in NOW.m3u
  • .mp3 file of the show
So there is no way you can get a virus from the zip files we provide for download. I give a 100% guarantee that AH.FM sets we provide for each show are virus FREE.

However I can't speak for the files you download in our DJ's Corner as forum community posts links to their sets there etc and its not AH.FM material/property.

So please let us know what file you downloaded so we can remove it.

yeah, our ZIP files only contain clean stuff, no way the virus came from there

Megaupload has advertisements though, which are beyond our control... but always watch where you click, some advertisements are nasty

plus use antivirus software if possible, there are plenty of FREE stuff out there :)

Well, that's just it. It gave me a Megaupload link, and once the file downloaded, it just went straight to being a virus.

But now I know how to avoid it.
:D

Our files are .zip format files you have to unpack them to see the mp3 file... so i dont know how it just went straight to being a virus? impossible

This is the first time i hear this since we introduced downloads via megaupload.com

Can u send me a link that gave u a virus?

I've been downloading shows since very 1st introduction :ah:
Im almost 100% sure that it is not AH.FM fault :ee:
The only advice - check your software :music:

Yeah, I don't even understand any of it.

This was all probably just a fault of my own stupidity any, so no big deal. :)
