Adam Sheridan - http://www.adam-sheridan.com/

After first gracing the Decks in Manchester over 10 years ago Adam Sheridan has come a long way. Climbing up through the hard house and trance ranks, Adam can now be found performing his unique Ableton live performances right across the globe. From L.A. To Ibiza, Bangkok to Melbourne and beyond, Adam is rocking the crowds on a global scale.

Spinning his unique style of house, techno and progressive house merged into one mind blowing performance that is leaving crowds and promoters in awe and gasping for more, Adam is regularly playing alongside some of the biggest DJs in the world and to being asked back time and time again. With closing sets for Tiesto at Privilige in Ibiza, main room sets alongside Paul Van Dyk at the mighty Cream Amnesia (where he's been made resident for the 5th year running!) and requests to play at Carl Cox’s Intec parties across the world, Adam is definitely one to watch!

And it’s not just Adam's DJ performances that have attracted so much attention. His own productions have gained support from some of the biggest artists in the world. Few producers can say that their releases have been supported by artists as diverse as Tiesto, Carl Cox, Dubfire, Laurent Garnier, Paul Van Dyk and Adam Beyer to name but a few, but this fact only goes to show the wide-ranging appeal of Adam's sound and the variety of audiences he is reaching.

Never one to stay still, immediately following the release of his debut artist album out last summer - “Timezone” - a simple yet effective idea featuring a series of six unique tracks inspired by different continents around the globe that have influenced Adam’s sound over the past ten years - Adam has launched a brand new label, Audiojunkie, which is quickly gaining support from some of the biggest names in the industry. With a fistful of new tracks and high-profile remixes lined up for the next 12 months and a label promoting some of the brightest new talent in clubland, things are looking good for Adam Sheridan and his fellow Audiojunkies...

Ahead of their album launch party this Friday, Sly One & Jurrane take a few minutes to chat to Forward...

Forward) Hello chaps, all set for Friday?

Jurrane: To say we're excited is an understatement! We've heard great things about Forward and can't wait for our set on Friday.

Sly One: Raring to go! I was a muppet and left my main CD case on a train though this week. I'm spending every spare minute burning new copies of everything!

Forward) Global Trance UK is the second instalment of Recover Worlds 'Global' series - how do you think UK Trance compares to Trance from other countries?

Sly One: Dance music in the UK has always been rooted firmly on the dancefloors, and apart from around the late 90s and 2000, has never really been mainstream as music to hear when not clubbing. As a result, the producers who cut their teeth on the UK club scene generally target the club sound first and foremost. They also seem to more often be DJs first and producers second. All this, I reckon, makes the UK sound as pumping and driving as it is.

Jurrane: For me, it's the sheer diversity. I guess one of the things the album confirms is there's an incredibly talented and vibrant pool of production talent in the UK and it's growing all the time. We were thrilled by the huge variety of styles we were sent for the compilation, particularly by unsigned producers, and we really hope that diversity has come through in the Global Trance UK album.

Forward) Your Machine Intelligence Podcast is ever growing, do you think podcasts provide a vital part in raising your profile as producers?

Jurrane: I think they play a very important part. Like it or not, the way people listen to dance music is changing: more and more people are getting into trance through radio and the Internet rather than going out and partying in clubs. Putting radio shows and podcasts together can be a real challenge: there are plenty of tracks which are great radio tracks that don't necessarily work well live, and vice-versa.

Sly One: It's an opportunity to share the music we love with people regularly without them needing to be tied to a radio schedule. It's satisfying and fun, but it also means that people all over the world who wouldn't otherwise get to see us can hear us and get involved. It's caused a huge growth in our fan base around the world, so it's a big deal for us.

Forward) A question from our Facebook poll - What tip would you give any up and coming DJ / Producer?

Sly One: Don't chase gadgets, plugins and software. Get a small selection of the right gear and learn it back-to-front. Play with the gear, don't try and make music all the time. Watch every Youtube vid, read every tutorial, read the manuals. Some top 10 DJs only ever use the Logic built-in synths.

Jurrane: That's great production advice so mine's aimed at DJs. Don't compromise your sound for anyone. Play the music that genuinely excites you: not what you think the market wants to hear. Be passionate about what you do and the rest will follow naturally.

Forward) What's next for Sly One & Jurrane? We've heard your new single 'Open Roads' - cracking tune!

Jurrane: Thank you! We're very happy with the way Open Roads has turned out as we wanted to make a real summer track. We've just finished 'Tayrona', the follow-up, and have a pretty full production diary for the rest of the year. Expect plenty more singles - and we're beginning to turn our thoughts to an artist album. Watch this space...

Forward) Another question from our Facebook poll - Dominos or Pizzahut?

Sly One: Dominos. Filthy but good.

Jurrane: I'm not a huge fan of either but if I have to choose one it'd be the Hut.

Forward) You're both residents for the legendary Planet Angel. We hear its about as underground as you get?! Tell us a little about it.

Sly One: Take some of the craziest days & nights you've had at an outdoor festival, put it in a club with incredible decor covering every surface, add a generous helping of old school rave atmosphere, face painting, lego, plasticine, playstation, random shows popping up (like live bands, beatboxers, dance shows and anything they can think of), the friendliest (and maddest dressed) people you'll ever meet, a garden & barbecue, three rooms spanning trance/tech/progressive, D&B/dubstep/breaks/electro, and deep/progressive house, and hugely talented performers and DJs. It's like nowhere else.

Jurrane: That's a pretty accurate description! A couple of things I'd add are that the production values at Planet Angel parties really are second to none, and the people who run them are some of the most dedicated and committed I've ever met. We've both been incredibly fortunate to play for Planet Angel for the best part of a decade, and the atmosphere and crowd are absolutely amazing. A lot of it stems from the fact that it's a real word-of-mouth organisation: run by friends, for friends, but with huge crowds at every single event.

Forward) And one more question from our Facebook poll - Favourite sporting team(s)?

Sly One: Only my home town, Bournemouth, who are in the playoffs right now! Otherwise I'm all about tennis & cricket.

Jurrane: I'm a (not so) happy Hammer. We've got a real job on our hands to avoid playing Championship football next season.

Forward) Favourite track to get a crowd going?

Sly One: Right now? Probably Kyau & Albert - Be There 4 U (Mat Zo Remix) or Bryan Kearney & Snatam Kaur - Ong Namo (Neptune Project's In Search of the Mayans Remix).

Jurrane: It depends on the crowd but my tune of the year so far is the superb Callum B remix of Scott G vs Imprintz & Kloe - Return Of The King. It's not strictly trance but it's been sending crowds wild.

Thanks for taking time to chat with us lads! See you on Friday!
