Ukrainian artist Owen Ear returns to Silk Sofa with the "Expectation" EP, which features two brand new downtempo cuts. Owen has previously graced us with the "Alone" and "The Crowd" EPs, which introduced us to his unique soundscapes and melodies.
"Expectation" starts off with a soothing piano melody, refreshing sound effects and an enjoyable breakbeat. Additional piano melodies emerge, and later, a lush violin melody is introduced. These elements play extremely well with the percussion rhythms in the background and the floating pad layers on top.
The B-side, "Inside", begins with an array of unique, blissful bell melodies, soon accompanied by a soft breakbeat. An arpeggio line and a supporting lead synth are added later, and the sweeping synth effects in the background spice up the atmosphere.
