What happened to Mike Nichol?

A lot of people might know him for his track Durado, but I am just wondering what happened to him? His website is no longer there and he doesn't seem to be responding on twitter nor facebook and neither here as well.

I think he quit music, Im not sure mate ...
 
The last time I spoke with him he mentioned it was difficult making a living though music. I believe he was an electrician, so may have pursued that path instead
 
That's a shame I hope he does come back though, and you can't make a living off making music unless if you are popular.
 
I really loved his radioshow back in the days. :(

It's a good track but it sounds too much like a remix (or rip-off) of Trouser Enthusiasts - Sweet Release (which I absolutely loved back in those days [and still do]). Even if he didn't intend to rip off Sweet Release, maybe he was inspired by the tune sub-consciously after having heard Sweet Release some time prior to coming up with his melodies. Did he ever comment on this issue?
