Maybe they don't make as much sense in the US where cities are build around cars but in London with it's narrow roads and alleys they're great, you can park them straight next to some wheelie bin (same size) and you're exempt from £8 ($16) congestion charge a day. With 50 - 65 mpg (dependent on engine) they're economical (good on the environment)and the passenger cell is very tough.
Heck even the cops love 'em.

CCTV equipped - i hope there's no strong wind going...:mask:

Whilst I recognize this machine's contribution to the environment.....

To put it as simply as possible...

You wouldn't catch me dead in one of those!

1. There isn't enough room to put clothes after a days shopping.
2. There isn't enough room to put shoes after a days shopping.
3. There isn't enough room.....well you get the idea!

those smart cars are very popular around here. parking is already a horror in the larger cities, so having a smart gives you a real advantage there. and there is actually quite a lot of room in those things, i'm 1.92 m tall (6'3"), and driving a smart is more comfortable for me than in many other larger cars. also, there IS a "back" with room for storing all your stuff after shopping or whatever. you'd really be surprised about how much room really is in those things.

the stock models don't have much power, but for the city it doesn't matter. they're so lightweight, driving them is like driving a go-kart., there's a big fun factor to it. the more powerful models will also overtake you on any highway. but they're really meant as a city vehicle, and that's what they're really good for.

but yes, i wouldn't get one myself :p

Oh dear.....

That must be a lot of shopping that you do:p:lol:

But then again, I know what you mean. I cannot imagine going to a music shop and loading that car with boxes of DJ equipment:p
