All of this was built in the last 5 years, including that island that looks like a palm tree.
Upon completion, the resort will have 2,000 villas, 40 luxury hotels, shopping centers, movie theaters, and many other facilities. It is expected to support a population of approximately 500,000 people. It is advertised as being visible from the moon.

The World Islands . 300 artificially created islands in the shape of the world. Each island will have an estimated cost of $25-30 million.

The Dubai Waterfront. When completed it will become the largest waterfront development in the world .
The Dubai Marina is an entirely man made development that will contain over 200 high rise buildings when finished. It will be home to some of the tallest residential structures in the world. The completed first phase of the project is shown. Most of the other high rise buildings will be finished by 2009-2010.

Yea, that's some crazy stuff there.

I saw some shows about that funky sail looking hotel in Dubai. It is pretty amazing what people can build nowadays. Oh, and that whole "world islands" stuff, I saw that too.

Oh yea, and some of those rooms in that hotel start at like, $23,000 a night:wow:

It is sad that a gallon of milk here is the same price as gas:p

You´re lucky for paying only US$3 for a gallon...here we pay approx. R$10 (US$5,55) for a gallon....:mask:

The ultimate Vegas!

Looks like it could be a copy of Atlantis?
:whistle:Guess they didn't take into consideration the global warming!!Maybe they'll just pump the water out as it rises?:hmmm:

I knew the Arabs love Vegas,so I guess they built their very own.

Bad location for it in the Persian Gulf imo:unsure:

Okay now:p:lol:

I am American (well, born in Puerto Ric but still.)

Yes, this country is full of nuts. I do say that most Americans think that this is the best country in the world but we got so many problems that most countries do not have. High crime, obesity, high ****, high drug use, high DUI deaths and well, a lot of things that just suck.

Oh, and something else.....

USA has too much Top 40, Rap in the charts:unsure:

...Scary!

That city looks like it's just gonna keep growing, and growing...

I can't help but wonder if there are any cities in the world that grew so large they came together with another city.

current gas price around here, converted, is around $6.60 per gallon, btw. which is in the lower range for europe i think. so the message to all americans is: stop whining :p

An old example of that I believe if I'm not wrong is Buda and Pest which adventually turned into Budapest,Hungary.

An example here in the states would be Minneapolis and St.Paul,Minnesota.
