About Chicane

Chicane is the electronic music project of Nick Bracegirdle, known for melodic and atmospheric dance music. His work has long connected Balearic influence, progressive electronic production and trance, giving the project a broad musical identity.

SunSets brings those different elements together in a weekly format. The show can move from reflective and cinematic music into more euphoric, club-focused material without losing its melodic character.

Why the Beach-to-Dancefloor Concept Works

The contrast between chilled opening music and stronger club material creates a clear journey. Softer tracks establish atmosphere and emotion, while progressive house and trance gradually raise the energy without making the transition feel abrupt.

That progression is one of the reasons SunSets stands apart from a conventional peak-time radio show. The quieter moments are part of the identity rather than simply an introduction.

Who Is SunSets For?

The programme is a strong fit for listeners who enjoy melodic electronic music across several energy levels. Fans of Balearic sounds, progressive house and trance can all find familiar elements inside the same weekly journey.

The Balearic Side of Chicane

Balearic influence is central to the atmosphere of SunSets. Warm melodies, spacious arrangements and relaxed pacing can create the feeling of open-air listening before the programme gradually introduces stronger progressive and trance elements.

This gives the show unusual breadth. A single edition can work for relaxed listening at the beginning and still develop into something energetic enough for the dancefloor later, all while maintaining the melodic character associated with Chicane.
