MJR – Off The Grid

MJR was first Introduced to music at a very young age with his family having a very diverse taste in music. MJR didnt know at this point his eclectic musical background would end up sending him down a road in music.

The first time MJR was introduced to electronic was when he seen Judge Jules on Rapture TV playing at Godkitchen and Gatecrasher. Tracks Airwave – Save Me and Green Martian – Industry caught MJR attention and that was the path started into the World of Trance.

In Sept 2004, MJR was 17 at this point and was on a journey back from seeing Scot Project Djing in Glasgow when he met a guy named Paul Miller who would change his life. Paul Miller invited MJR to his club night he ran in a local club called Studio 4 in their hometown in Falkirk. After that first visit, MJR continued to go to these nights and purchased a set of turntables. Within 3 months, MJR became a resident and within 5 months supported Mark Sherry(Previously Public Domain) in his first big artist gig.

From then MJR went on a journey of playing all over Scotland and in Ibiza, Playing nights at the Soundhaus, City Nightclub, O’Couture, Archaos, Liquid Rooms and Supported names like Ferry Corsten, Bryan Kearney, Mallorca Lee, Mark Sherry, William Daniel, Dark By Design, Kutski and Many More.

Also MJR ran a clubnight in Falkirk called Exile which he brought artists Mallorca Lee, William Daniel, Mark Sherry, David Forbes, Stephen Kirkwood, Orla Feeney and many more to his nights.

Throughout His DJ Career, MJR has gained alot of experience and always wants to be at the forefront of the newest and latest music. Exile is still a brand in itself and in 2021 Exile took over the airwaves on Pulse 98.4FM Glasgow, Scotland.

In 2022, Exile rebranded as Exile Presents Hard Dance Heaven as a registered brand. After a short while MJR decided for a change…

Going into 2023, MJR started his own venture called Off The Grid which he has grown as a podcast with guests like Argy, Helslowed, Ronski speed, Madwave and it’s now got its own place on pulse 98.4 Glasgow which it’s massive. Having some of the biggest artists out there on the show it’s grown into moving onto Afterhours FM.
