Proxi & Alex Pepper – Alex Peppers Yorkshire
Alex Pepper’s Yorkshire with Proxi is a journey through sound, story, and landscape, hosted by broadcaster, DJ, and lifelong audio architect Alex Pepper alongside immersive mix curator Proxi. Alex Pepper is a veteran of the UK radio scene, known for his distinctive style, razor-sharp wit, and decades behind the mic crafting unforgettable moments on-air. From pioneering iconic audio branding in the late ‘90s to building his own 24/7 station, Alex Pepper Live, Alex has long blurred the line between broadcaster, storyteller, and sonic ringmaster. As a DJ and producer under the alias PAD13_, he creates cinematic trance, old-school rave, and emotionally charged broadcast experiences, always laced with atmosphere, humour, and heart.
Proxi is an internet DJ known for crafting immersive sonic journeys that blur the line between escapism and emotional storytelling. Rising from niche online communities, he built a loyal following through carefully curated mixes that prioritize atmosphere as much as rhythm. His breakout series, Trancing It Up, blends progressive, uplifting, and classic sounds into aural voyages. Alongside this, Proxi collaborated with Alex Pepper on the Outside Trance shows, which later spawned the companion series Inside Trance. Their sound and structure aligned naturally, with both exploring a wide range of themes and moods within the trance space.
Proxi also teamed up with good friend and fellow trance enthusiast Darran Bartley for the Bedtime Stories shows, featuring deep late-night explorations, and together they’ve occasionally unleashed the infamous Sweaty Bastards mashups. Together in Alex Pepper’s Yorkshire with Proxi, the pair combine field recordings, storytelling, walkabout adventures, and finely curated trance soundtracks to create a uniquely atmospheric experience. Rooted in the landscapes of Yorkshire but reaching far beyond, the show is equal parts travelogue, comedy, nostalgia trip, and euphoric audio odyssey.
