Julien Chabernaud, also known as Beatwave, is a French Trance DJ who broadcasts his TranceLive Sessions show on AH.FM. During his teen years in the 1990s, he started recording tapes with the music aired on French radio stations, discovering popular EDM genres at that time such as Italian EuroDance and French Touch House music. While studying chemistry, he started playing during student parties. Always searching for new sounds, he finally discovered Trance music during summer 2006 when he listened to tracks from Ferry Corsten. He quickly developed a liking for the genre and during a three-month work stay in the Netherlands, listening to radio shows made him discover the work of producers like Gareth Emery, Heatbeat, John O’Callaghan, Armin van Buuren, and many more.
In late 2010, he launched his podcast Trancecast Sessions after self-teaching how to work with recording software. During 10 years and more than 100 episodes, he teamed up with NeonTiger to air his first radio show on AH.FM: NeonWaves, a co-hosted themed radio show.
In early 2022, he finally launched his own first radio show: TranceLive Sessions, which airs each month on AH.FM.
