Hel:sløwed
A true labour of love, Helslowed – Borderlands, Hel:sløwed is the brand new project of Misja Helsloot and Michael de Kooker. Having earned their stripes in the international music scene, together they clock up more than 35 years of pure devotion to all things dance music. A mutual love for melodies, the deeper grooves of techno and the uplifting yet playful feel of old-school trance connects their minds, resulting in a joint venture that’s ready to make itself heard.
Steering towards a full-toned, rich blend of progressive and trance, a Hel:sløwed original takes the mind to those early days of clubbing, with the technique, maturity and full-bodied sound propelling it to far beyond today. With releases on labels like Armada Music, Spinnin’ Records, Sony Music, A State of Trance, Black Hole Recordings, Pure Trance and more, the Hel:sløwed sound has clearly struck a chord with the industry’s elite.
About Misja Helsloot:
Misja Helsloot hasn’t only witnessed the very rise of trance music, he’s one of the Dutch DJ’s that’s played a key role in the genre’s forever renaissance. To Misja, music is a lifelong affection. In the past two decades he’s graced the decks of some of the world’s leading festivals and club events, toured all across Europe, Australia, Asia and the Middle-East, organised his own parties, owned no less than 3 record labels and focussed on building his own, extensive discography – including the legendary, very first ‘In Trance We Trust’ compilation. Collaborations with Tiësto, Signum, Leon Bolier, Ruben de Ronde, Sied van Riel, as well as various releases on Black Hole, Cloud 9, Armada Music, Universal Nation, ITWT, FSOE Recordings and more, made and continue to make Misja Helsloot a name in demand. A level-headed guy, whose heart won’t ever stop beating for music.
About Michael de Kooker:
If anything, Michael de Kooker loves to erase boundaries, think outside the box and bend genres. His career dates back to 2007, when getting signed to Cloud 9 Music with a collaboration that cleared the way for bigger things. His remix of ‘Veracocha – Carte Blanche’ made it to the Dutch Top 40, and led to remixing the likes of Armin van Buuren pres. Perpetuous Dreamer, Vincent de Moor, Ruben de Ronde and more. Never a fan of the spotlights, Michael has spent the past 10 years working behind the scenes running his own ghostproducer company – to great success. From the comforts of his studio, he’s been the driving force behind countless signings on labels like Spinnin’, Universal, Sony, Warner Music, Revealed, Kontor, Ministry of Sound and more. His clientele includes young start-ups as well as Top 100 DJ’s. A perfectionist in quality, but a dreamer in creativity, Michael never leaves the studio without having found that particular sound he’s after.
Both eager to bring back that dreamy sound of old – encapsulated in techno grooves and progressive melodies, Misja & Michael’s take on the music so many have fallen in love with, is about to be played.
