The Captive Soul Sound

The strongest link between melodic techno and progressive house is the way both styles build tension gradually. Long transitions, layered melodies and evolving arrangements can create a sense of movement without needing constant peak-time intensity.

That approach suits Korolova’s radio format particularly well because a longer mix can develop atmosphere before moving into heavier sections. Captive Soul uses that contrast to keep the programme emotional as well as energetic.
